Make-up Policy

Make-up Work: Students who have been absent for illness or any other reason have the responsibility to contact you about any make-up work they need to do. It is understood that the nature of some work makes it impossible to complete, e.g., science lab, group activities, etc. For work that students can make-up, they have a maximum of one (1) class day plus the total number of days absent in which to complete the assignments. Make-up assignments should be the same or essentially equal to the assignment or work assignment for student who was present. If students know in advance they will be absent because of an extracurricular activity on the date an assignment or project is due, your grading guidelines may require the assignment or project to be turned in before the extracurricular absence. Pre-announced exams will be taken when the student returns to school after being absent unless other arrangements are made at the teacher’s discretion.

Late Assignments/ Late Work

Academic Achievement and practice assignments must be accepted for all courses including Honors with penalty, at least one day after the due date. Late work will not be accepted more than 2 days after the due date with a penalty not to exceed more than 10 points per day for late work. Academic practice assignments are expected to be complete prior to Academic Achievement grades given.
